Smiths Falls resident facing charges after allegedly threatening local police officers, multiple acts of vandalism

A Smiths Falls resident has been charged by OPP in relation to incidents involving alleged threats and vandalism. 

OPP report that the Smiths Falls Police Service requested their assistance on Friday, April 19 after an individual allegedly made threats against two members of the police service and committed multiple acts of vandalism in the form of graffiti.

Members of the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit, as well as the Lanark OPP Crime Unit, began an investigation, and an arrest warrant was issued.

On Saturday, April 20, 2024, the above units, assisted by members of the OPP ROPE (Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement) Squad, made an arrest in Ottawa.

 Gregory Bradford, age 28, has been charged with:

  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – two counts
  • Criminal harassment
  • Intimidation of a justice system participant 
  • Mischief under $5000 – four counts 

Charges have not been proven in court.

The accused remains in custody. The bail hearing is scheduled to continue before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on April 23, 2024.
