Driver facing serious injuries and impaired charge following Rogers Stevens Drive collision: Lanark OPP


A single vehicle collision on Roger Stevens Drive that drew response from multiple Lanark County area emergency services resulted in charges for the driver.

In a media release, OPP state that their Lanark County detachment, alongside the Smiths Falls Police Service, Lanark County Paramedics and Montague Township Fire Department, responded to a collision shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27 in Montague Township.

“A car had left Roger Stevens Drive, just west of Rosedale Road,” the media release reads. “It struck a hydro pole and flipped over.”

Police say the driver was transported to hospital in Ottawa with serious injuries.

Testing conducted at the scene , as well as later at the hospital, resulted in the driver being arrested.

Shakhboz Yuldashev, age 37 of Toronto has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence

Charges have not been proven in court.

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on June 3.
