‘Firearm discharged’: Domestic violence incident in Toledo results in gun, harassment charges

A domestic violence incident that happened May 12/13 in Toledo has one man in custody with several criminal charges, including firearms.

Leeds OPP Const. Joey Mason, Media Relations Officer for Leeds County, confirmed the incident occurred overnight between May 12 and 13.

“This incident is spousal in nature, so limited information can be provided,” Mason wrote in an email to Brockvilleist.

“There is one male accused, and one female victim. A firearm was discharged at an unoccupied vehicle that was parked at the victim’s residence.”

The male was arrested and charged Tuesday, May 13 and was remanded into custody.

The accused was charged with the following:

  • Discharge a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner;
  • Careless use of firearm, weapon or prohibited device or ammunition;
  • Trespassing at night;
  • Criminal harassment – beset and watch complainant;
  • Mischief under $5,000.

The accused is to appear in court today in Brockville to answer to the charges.
