Lanark County Interval House to mark 45 years at September meeting

The year 2024 is a significant one for Lanark County Interval House, marking 45 years since they first opened their doors.
The community is invited to join them for their Annual General Meeting on Monday, Sept. 23, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Almonte Branch of the Mississippi Mills Public Library. A media release explains that the group will “reflect on our journey, recognize our achievements, and look forward to the future with hope and determination.”
Light refreshments will be served.
“From our humble beginnings with kitchen table discussions and planning, our services have evolved to meet the ever-changing needs of our community,” the release says. “Our shelter has expanded, our programs have grown, and our commitment to advocacy has never wavered.”
The evening will offer a presentation by Jennifer Irwin of the Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum, long-time Lanark County Interval House and Community Support (LCIHCS) staff Jean Rogers and Genevieve Campbell, and a video presentation on LCIHCS history. Certain community partners will also be honoured for their commitment to the agency.
