‘Smashed a display case’: OPP seeking suspects in Carleton Place robbery
Police in Carleton Place are looking for two suspects after a business was robbed on Monday, Sept. 30.
Lanark County OPP say in a media release that it took place at “a department store on McNeely Avenue” (Walmart) at around 6 p.m. on Monday. “Two men had smashed a display case in the electronics department and removed multiple devices,” police say.
The suspects then reportedly fled the store in a mini-van.
Police say there were no injuries during the incident.
An officer spotted the vehicle moments after it left the store, but the driver refused to stop. The officer did not initiate a pursuit for safety reasons, due to traffic in the area.
The robbers are described as:
- Males
- 22-27 years of age
- 5’10 (178 cm)
- One was wearing a white hoodie and black pants
- The other was a green/greyish sweater and black pants
- Both men were black medical masks and blue gloves
The vehicle was a white Honda Odyssey with Ontario licence plate DAJM655. The plate had been reported as missing from another vehicle.
