Carleton Place Winter Wishbook offers festive guide to local shopping, family fun

Looking for some holiday shopping inspiration this season? For the second year in a row, the Downtown Carleton Place Business Improvement Area (BIA) have released their Winter Wishbooks, and there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy.
The purpose of these Wishbooks is to foster more community engagement and promote what local nine unique businesses have to offer. There are also word scrambles and other fun puzzles within the pages to keep you and your child engaged throughout your shopping journey.
BIA Coordinator Paisley Woods told Lanarkist “Ideally, we include as many BIA businesses as possible because there are so many fabulous places to shop in the Downtown Carleton Place BIA.” She continued, “We reach out earlier in the year to our members to find out what is coming in for the holiday season. Our focus is to produce a book that kids will enjoy browsing through and will be able to find items they are excited about.”
The BIA’s current focus is on featuring gift ideas for kids and teens but they hope to expand the Winter Wishbook to include gift ideas for everyone of all ages in the future.
Woods explained, “The Wishbook provides a tangible way to interact and engage the community. This is a fun way to capture the imagination and show kids and families the amazing selection that’s available right in the community. We hope that this Wishbook illustrates you can shop local without compromising and it inspires them to do so.”
