Carleton Place launches enhanced online pet licensing: flat rates and year-round validity

Licensing your pet just got a little easier in Carleton Place.

Starting Jan. 1, the town introduced an enhanced pet licensing service through the Carleton Place Online portal.

“We’ve improved our dog licensing system to provide better value for pet owners,” a media release states. Dog licenses will now last a full 12 months from the date of purchase, rather than expiring at the end of the calendar year. All dog licenses will be available at a flat rate of $25.
 
Cat owners can also register their feline friends through the same convenient online system. Cat licenses are valid for the lifetime of your pet, with fees of $25 for spayed/neutered cats and $70 for non-spayed/neutered cats.
 
“Keep your furry family members properly licensed and help us maintain a safe, responsible pet community,” the town urges.
