New emergency room in Carleton Place now open to patients

As of Thursday, Jan. 29, residents are able to use the new Emergency Department (ED) at Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (CPDMH).
Patients in need of emergency care should now access the new Emergency Department via the Neelin Street entrance, rather than the hospital’s main entrance on Lake Avenue.
The previous Emergency Department entrance is now the hospital’s main entrance and should no longer be used for ER visits, the Mississippi River Health Alliance explains in a media release. Dedicated parking for ED patients is available on Neelin Street.
The newly constructed Emergency Department is designed to enhance patient care with expanded treatment spaces, improved patient privacy, and state-of-the-art medical technology. The modernized layout allows CPDMH’s skilled medical team to deliver more efficient, high-quality emergency care in a setting that meets the growing needs of the community.
“We are grateful to our staff, partners, and the community for their patience and support throughout this project,” said Brad Harrington, President and CEO of the MRHA. “The new Emergency Department represents a significant step forward in ensuring timely and high-quality emergency care for residents of Carleton Place and beyond.”
