Conservative Scott Reid will once again be heading to Parliament Hill.

Elections Canada projected Reid’s win at about 11 p.m. on Monday, April 28. By 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Reid had won 33,595 votes (50.3 per cent). Liberal Michelle Foxton finished a close second with 30,397 votes (45.5 per cent), followed by New Democrat Danielle Rae with 1,962 (2.9 per cent) and Green Jesse Pauley with 855 votes (1.3 per cent). Voter turnout in the riding was 74.69 per cent (not including electors who registered on Election Day.)

Reid has represented the area for the last 25 years, though the name and borders of the riding have shifted several times during that period. He was first elected to the Canadian House of Commons in the 2000 federal election as a member of the Canadian Alliance. He narrowly defeated Liberal incumbent Ian Murray in the riding of Lanark—Carleton to become one of only two Alliance representatives from Ontario. He was then a key negotiator for the Alliance party during its merger with the Progressive Conservative Party in 2003; the result of this merger was the current Conservative Party of Canada.

Reid has gone on to win every subsequent election, remaining constant as the riding he represented shifted to Lanark-Frontenac-Lennox and Addington in 2004, Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston in 2015, and finally Lanark-Frontenac in 2025.

Reid will join a parliament headed by Prime Minister Mark Carney, whose Liberal party was on track to win at a minority government as of 7 a.m. on Tuesday with 99.16 per cent of polls reporting. The Liberals picked had up 168 seats at that time (43.5 per cent), the Conservatives 144 (41.4 per cent), the NDP seven (6.3 per cent) and the Green Party one (2.4 per cent). Final numbers will be updated as they are made available.

Voter turnout nationwide was 67.15 per cent.
