Local business owner launches $100,000 donation match for local hospitals in Carleton Place and Almonte

Two local hospitals are getting a big boost thanks to a local business owner with deep charitable roots in supporting community healthcare initiatives. Keith Bean, owner of Bean Chevrolet Buick GMC in Carleton Place, has pledged to match donations of up to $100,000 for the WIN2025 hospital fundraising campaign.
This is a major initiative supporting critical needs at the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital Foundation (CPDMH) and the Almonte General Hospital Fairview Manor Foundation (AGH-FVM). Announced last week at a community breakfast hosted by Bean himself, the donation match aims to inspire other residents to give back before the campaign deadline of June 30, 2025.
“These hospitals are the heart of our communities,” Bean said in a press release on Friday, May 9. “They’ve been there for us in times of need, and now it’s our turn to give back in a big way.”
Funds raised through WIN2025 will go towards purchasing vital equipment and educational resources for hospital staff. These are costs not covered by government funding, yet essential to high-quality care for patients. According to the Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA), which oversees both hospitals, community contributions are crucial to ensuring staff are trained and equipped, and confident in their roles.
“Keith’s commitment is truly remarkable,” said Brad Harrington, President & CEO of the MRHA. “His matching gift doesn’t just double donations—it strengthens frontline care for everyone in our region.”
Bean is no stranger to local healthcare fundraising. Since 2018, he’s been involved in five “Car or Ca$h for Healthcare” lotteries, both in partnership with CPDMH and AGH-FVM. While he is no stranger to raising money for healthcare initiatives, this year’s WIN2025 goal is his most ambitious to date.
“This is a win-win-win,” said Robyn Arseneau, executive director of the CPDMH Foundation in a press release. “Keith’s generosity is helping us stretch every dollar further.”
Donors can contribute online at www.win2025.ca, where they can choose to support either foundation individually or split their gift between both and there donation will be matched dollar for dollar. In-person donations are also accepted at several locations, including the foundations’ offices and Bean’s car dealership in Carleton Place.
