Excitement is building at St. John Catholic High School as students prepare to take the stage later this month for their spring musical production of Mean Girls Jr.

Performances are scheduled for Sunday, May 26 through Tuesday, May 28, with shows each day at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend and support the young cast, who have been working hard to bring the high school comedy to life.

An adaptation of the Broadway musical and original film by Tina Fey, Mean Girls Jr. features a younger cast and age-appropriate themes while retaining the humour, catchy music, and meaningful messages about friendship, self-respect, and kindness.

“We’ve seen so much dedication and talent from our students throughout the rehearsal process,” said director Mme Gabrielle McKinnon. “And this year we have Mme Hilary Longtin, Mr. Kyle Doucette and Ms. Peyton Horning working hard to dazzle the audience and complement the students’ exceptional work.”

More than 20 students have been involved in transforming the stage into North Shore High, with support from staff, volunteers, and the school’s art, music, and drama programs.

Tickets for the 6 p.m. shows are available now through the school website and School Cash Online. No account is needed to purchase. For information about noon performances, contact Hilary.Longtin@cdsbeo.on.ca.

A cash canteen and merchandise booth will be available at each performance. Seating is limited.
