Carleton Place Library to host info session with Service Canada on federal benefit programs

Carleton Place residents with questions about federal benefit programs like the Guaranteed Income Supplement or the new Canada Dental Plan will have a chance to get answers during an upcoming session hosted by the Carleton Place Public Library.
The free information session, presented in partnership with Service Canada, will take place on Thursday, June 19 at 1 p.m. at the library. Organizers say the event will provide an overview of both programs, offer an opportunity to ask questions, and guide participants on how to book appointments at the local Service Canada office to start their applications.
“This is a great opportunity for anyone seeking clarity on these important programs,” said Heidi Sinnett, library staff member and event organizer in a press release on Thursday, May 22, 2025. “We want to make sure people feel informed and supported.”
While attendance is free, space is limited and registration is required. Those interested in attending are asked to email Heidi Sinnett at hsinnett@carletonplace.ca with their name and phone number to reserve a spot.
For individuals unable to attend the event, the library noted that they can arrange to have their contact information shared with Service Canada, so a representative can follow up and book a personal appointment.
