Progress Pride Flags raised at Mississippi River Health Alliance sites to promote equity and inclusive care

In a show of support for equity and inclusion, the Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) has raised the Progress Pride Flag across all of its sites to mark the beginning of Pride Month.
As of Monday June 2, the Progress Pride Flag is now flying at Almonte General Hospital (AGH), Fairview Manor (FVM), Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (CPDMH), and the Lanark County Paramedic Service (LCPS) headquarters.
According to the MRHA, this initiative is more than just symbolic—it’s part of their broader commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation for the communities they serve.
“Displaying these flags is a meaningful way to demonstrate who we are and what we stand for,” said Brad Harrington, President and CEO of MRHA. “They send a clear message: everyone is welcome here, everyone belongs.”

This wide display of flags is one of many ways the MRHA is turning its commitment to equity and inclusion into tangible, system-wide action.
Over the past year, the MRHA has introduced gender-neutral restroom signage, surpassed training targets with new inclusive education modules, strengthened partnerships with groups such as the Wabano Centre and Pride Mississippi Mills, and implemented a Land Acknowledgment Policy for all events and communications.
“These flags are a visible reminder of the real work underway to create a more inclusive healthcare system,” said Angela McLean, Chair of the DEI&B Committee. “We’re proud of how far we’ve come and even more committed to the work ahead.”
