A major months-long infrastructure project is now officially underway in the Pakenham area as the Municipality of Mississippi Mills begins rehabilitation work on the Ninth Line Bridge along Concession 9.

The project, led by Bonnechere Excavating Inc. (BEI) Construction, got underway earlier this month. The rehabilitation will include replacing the aging bridge deck with a new reinforced concrete surface supported by steel girders.

According to the municipality, the work will also involve upgrading supports, guard rails, and safety barriers, as well as improving paving and drainage in the area.

In order to accomodate for drivers, construction will be staged to allow traffic to continue flowing along Concession 9, with one lane remaining open throughout the coming months. The municipality anticipates that project to be completed by October 30, 2025.

Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the BEI Project Manager Travis Moreau at 613-312-9874.
