Construction work to begin on McNeely Avenue for Carleton Place sewer project

The Town of Carleton Place is advising drivers and residents to prepare for overnight lane reductions starting Wednesday June 18, 2025 as part of the town’s ongoing Sewer Upsizing Project.
The Town’s Development Services Department says the lane closures will take place nightly for three to four consecutive nights to allow for critical infrastructure work. The project will include the removal of two concrete medians—one in the Independent Grocer drive aisle and another along McNeely Avenue.
Contractors from Cavanagh Construction will also be installing a bypass pipe across McNeely Avenue with a temporary pipe to support pumping discharge hoses required for the upcoming removal and replacement of sewer lines.
Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control as needed, and electronic signs have been placed in the area to keep residents informed.
