A community-wide fundraising campaign has exceeded expectations, raising more than $239,000 to support local healthcare services in both Carleton Place and Almonte.

As previously reported by Lanarkist, the WIN2025 Matching Gift Campaign was originally launched in April 2025. The initiative was inspired by a $100,000 matching donation from local business owner Keith Bean, who challenged residents to double their impact. In just two months, the campaign raised $239,655.22, an amount well beyond its original goal.

The funds will support urgently needed medical equipment and staff education initiatives at both Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (CPDMH) and Almonte General Hospital – Fairview Manor (AGH-FVM). Considering government funding does not cover the cost of new hospital equipment, local donations will play a critical role in maintaining the best patient care possible.

“When I pledged to match donations up to $100,000, it came from a deep love for this community, my staff, and my family,” said Bean, owner of Bean Chevrolet Buick GMC in a press release. “With no government funding for new equipment, our support is vital.”

Bean, along with his daughter April and their team at Buick GMC, have sparked donations from families, individuals, and businesses across Lanark County and even Ottawa.

“WIN2025 was about more than hitting a goal—it was about showing up for the hospitals that are always there when we need them most,” Bean explained. “Your generosity fuels the future of local healthcare.”

Robyn Arseneau, Executive Director of the CPDMH Foundation, called the results “a powerful reminder of what we can achieve together,” while Vaia Dimas, Executive Director of the AGH-FVM Foundation, referred the campaign’s success as a “thrilling example of collaboration and community generosity.”
