Water service disruption scheduled for parts of Mississippi Mills on Wednesday

Residents on two Mississippi Mills streets are being advised to prepare for a scheduled water outage on Wednesday, Aug. 6, as part of ongoing work on the Carss Street watermain project.
The planned shutdown will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and affect homes on Carss Street between Union Street and Martin Street North, as well as properties on Mitcheson Street up to the dead end north of Brookdale.
The municipality says affected residents have already been notified.
During the disruption, water will be temporarily unavailable. Residents are asked to close all taps to avoid issues when service resumes, and to store enough water in advance for drinking, cooking and other essential needs.
Once water is restored, residents may experience some temporary discolouration and are advised to run taps until the water clears.

The Carss Street watermain project is part of the municipality’s ongoing infrastructure improvements.
