Almonte General Hospital introducing $5 standardized daily parking fee

Visitors to Almonte General Hospital (AGH) will soon pay a $5 daily parking fee as the Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) moves to standardize parking across its facilities.
Set to launch in mid-August 2025, the gated parking system will match the fee structure already in place at Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (CPDMH) and is among the lowest hospital parking rates in the region. The $5 rate will cover a 24-hour period of time and will include in-and-out access.
According to a statement for the MRHA, all revenue form the parking system will be reinvested directly into patient care, hospital operations, and facility maintenance.
“This was a careful and considered decision made to protect the services and infrastructure our patients, residents, and families rely on,” said Brad Harrington, MRHA president and CEO. “The revenue generated will stay right here in our hospitals, directly supporting the continued delivery of high-quality care.”
Payment will be made by credit or debit at most lots, with coin-operated options at some remaining CPDMH parking areas. For those who are frequent hospital visitors, weekly, monthly, and annual passes will be available to purchase, and Fairview Manor residents will receive one complimentary parking pass.
While the change is new for AGH, the MRHA says the update will ensure a consistent and fair experience for patients and visitors across all sites.
Organizations operating on the AGH site — including Fairview Manor, Ottawa Valley Family Health Team, LifeLabs, and the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit — will also be affected by this change.
