Lanark County OPP have charged two 17-year-old Montague residents in separate incidents.

On Friday, Aug. 15, just after 11:30 a.m., officers responded to a complaint of a dispute at a residence in Montague Township. A 17-year-old was taken into custody without incident and charged with theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, breach of recognizance and two counts of disobeying a court order.

The youth was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Youth Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, Aug. 18.

In a separate investigation, another 17-year-old was arrested Thursday, Aug. 14, in connection with an earlier incident. That youth was charged with mischief and assault, and has been released from custody. They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Youth Court of Justice in Perth on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

Neither name has been released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, to protect the identities of the accused and victims.
