The Town of Carleton Place is advising residents to expect continued construction activity across several sites this week, with schedules dependent on weather, staffing and supply availability.

On McNeely Avenue and Independent Drive Aisle, crews will continue their restoration work tied to the sanitary sewer upsizing project. That includes repairing concrete curbs and medians, and the reinstatement of asphalt surfaces and landscaping.

Construction crews will also be present on Charles Street, replacing granular materials and sidewalk panels. On Industrial Avenue, crews will be continuing to install a forcemain, and drivers are asked to follow instructions from flaggers on-site.

Work is also progressing at multiple pumping stations in the town. At the Findlay Pump Station, contractors will be installing the foundation for a new building. At the Princess Street Pumping Station, rehabilitation of the wet well is ongoing along with preparation for a new generator foundation.

Meanwhile, hydro line relocation is underway at the Waste Water Treatment Plant, where crews are exposing underground infrastructure ahead of excavation work that is planned in the coming weeks.

Town officials are asking motorists and pedestrians to avoid construction zones where possible. If alternate routes are not available, drivers are urged to slow down and follow the directions of flag crews and posted signage.

“Our goal is to ensure everyone is able to go home safely at the end of each day,” the town said in a statement.

Questions about any of the projects can be directed to the Public Works Office at 613-257-2253.
