Crews continue sewer, pumping station and road work in Carleton Place over the next week

The Town of Carleton Place is advising residents of ongoing construction projects that may affect traffic and access in the coming days. Officials note that weather, staffing and material supply could impact schedules.
For the week ahead, crews are expected to continue work on several major projects, including:
- Sanitary Sewer Upsizing Project (McNeely Avenue): Asphalt and landscaping restoration along Independent Drive Aisle and McNeely Avenue.
- Captain A. Roy Brown Extension and McEachen Drive: Rock removal by blasting and reshaping of the Beckwith Drain.
- Charles Street: Replacement of granular materials in preparation for base course asphalt.
- Findlay Pump Station: Foundation work and concrete pouring for the new building.
- Princess Street Pumping Station: Formwork construction for the building foundation and generator pad.
- Industrial Avenue Pumping Station: Ongoing installation of the forcemain, with flaggers directing traffic.
- Water Treatment Plant Expansion: Crews exposing underground infrastructure for future excavation.
Residents are asked to use alternate routes where possible. Access to the Canoe Club and Riverside Park parking may be restricted intermittently. Drivers who must pass through active construction areas should slow down and follow instructions from flaggers or posted signage.
Questions about the projects can be directed to the town’s Public Works Office at 613-257-2253.
