Perth mourns sudden death of volunteer firefighter Brad Fielding

The Town of Perth is feeling the loss of cherished community member and volunteer firefighter Brad Fielding, who died suddenly on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025.

Fielding, who was born and raised in Perth, joined the fire department in 2022 and quickly became a valued member of the team. He followed in the footsteps of his father and uncle, both retired firefighters, continuing what town officials described as “a proud family legacy of courage, sacrifice, and community service.”

“The Council of the Town of Perth and Perth Fire Services wish to extend heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Volunteer Firefighter Brad Fielding,” the town said in a statement on Sep. 4. “His loss will be deeply felt by many.”

In his honour, flags at both Town Hall and the fire hall have been lowered to half-mast.
