Lanark County says the next scheduled closures of the Five Span Bridge (also known as the 5 arches bridge) in Pakenham will take place on the mornings of Monday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

The historic bridge has been undergoing a major rehabilitation project and may be closed periodically until October 2025. According to the municipality of Mississippi Mills, closures will only occur during daytime hours from half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset Monday through Thursday, and until noon on Fridays. The bridge will remain open overnight, as well as on weekends and statutory holidays.

During daytime closures, traffic will be detoured via Galetta Side Road, Upper Dwyer Hill Road and Kinburn Side Road.

Residents can follow progress on the rehabilitation project through a live camera and timelapse available at www.lanarkcounty.ca/5arches.
