The Town of Carleton Place is advising residents of upcoming construction work that may affect traffic and nearby neighbourhoods.

On the Captain A. Roy Brown Boulevard extension and McEachen Drive, crews will continue moving material from blasting and begin installing stormwater infrastructure and watermain connections.

On Charles Street, crews are preparing granular materials for base course asphalt. On St. Paul Street, the existing asphalt will be ground down and granular materials graded.

At the Findlay Pump Station, crews are building a new buoyancy ring and preparing the footings and foundation for the new building. Work also continues at the Princess Street Pumping Station, where renovations and buoyancy ring installation are underway.

On Industrial Avenue, the final sanitary sewer connection is set to begin Sept. 22 at Townline Road East. The road will be closed for several days, with detours posted. Businesses in the industrial park remain open and accessible from Ramsay Concession 8.

Drilling and blasting also continue at the Water Treatment Plant expansion and Wastewater Treatment Plant sites. Crews will be working through Saturday, Sept. 20, to stay on schedule.

The town is asking drivers to avoid construction zones where possible, or to slow down and follow signage and flag crews.
