The Mississippi Madawaska Land Trust (MMLT) is inviting the community to gather and explore one of the region’s most celebrated landscapes during its annual Fall Colours Walk at Blueberry Mountain.

The event will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025 at CliffLAND park, with visitors welcome between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Hikers can take advantage of the exploring the 5 km round trip trail while taking in the changing colours in the forest. Organizers assure that the summit view from the top of the mountain will be worth the trek.

“The air is turning crisp, the leaves are bursting into colour — it’s the perfect time to head outdoors and experience autumn in all its glory,” the MMLT said in its announcement.

Thanks to the generosity of Howard Clifford and his family, the community walk has now become a “cherished tradition supporting MMLT’s ongoing conservation work in the Mississippi–Madawaska region,” according to the organization.

Recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of Lanark County, Blueberry Mountain, with it’s cascade of trees, has earned a reputation as a must-see destination for locals and tourists alike during the fall season. Along the trail, hikers can stop at the Circle of Gratitude, which the organization described as “a meaningful installation of posts and plaques honouring MMLT’s dedicated supporters.”

The 5-kilometre round-trip trail includes a gradual forest climb, a waterfall and a short, steep ascent to the lookout. Light refreshments will be provided, and leashed dogs are welcome.

Blueberry Mountain is located at 502 Hills of Peace Rd, with parking available at the trailhead.
