Perth and Smiths Falls Hospital welcomes new board members with focus on patient experience

During its annual meeting in June 2025, the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital (PSFDH) officially elected three new members to its board of directors and confirmed new executive officers, which the hospital says is in keeping with its goal to usher in a new chapter for improved patient care.
According to a release from PSFDH, Dr. Warren Hollis will continue as board chair, with Kenneth Clupp named vice-chair and Michael Cohen serving as secretary. Hollis said the hospital’s leadership will maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and patient experience.
“Our hospital continues to fulfill the strategic priority of providing an excellent experience for the persons we serve, every time,” Hollis said. “This commitment not only shapes the way we care for our patients but also builds a culture where our organization is a place people are proud to give, work, and support.”
The hospital is feeling confident in their newly elected board members, who bring a range of experience in healthcare, business and community leadership.
- Marie-Anik Gagne is a Ph.D.-trained health policy and evaluation expert with more than 30 years of leadership in Canadian healthcare and is active in the Perth community.
- Caryn Langstaff has 18 years of clinical and administrative healthcare experience, with a focus on strategic planning and quality improvement.
- Axelle Pellerin, executive director of the 1000 Islands Addictions Treatment Centre, brings over 20 years of leadership, including senior roles at The Ottawa Hospital and Unity Health Toronto.
The new members gathered last month to complete an orientation session, which covered hospital strategy, clinical services and governance responsibilities, according to a release from PSFDH.
