Temporary no-parking zone implemented near Almonte hospital

Submitted photo

The Municipality of Mississippi Mills is temporarily banning parking along a section of Spring Street in Almonte to improve safety and access to the local hospital.

The no-parking zone extends 25 metres south from the entrance to the Almonte General Hospital (AGH), directly across from Clinton Street. The restriction takes effect immediately and will remain in place for a 30-day monitoring period, according to release from the municipality issued on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025.

Town officials say the measure was implemented to ensure clear access for emergency vehicles and patients entering or leaving the hospital.

“Residents and visitors are reminded that parking in front of driveways or within designated no parking zones is strictly prohibited. Violations may result in fines and/or towing, as outlined in municipal by-laws.” warned the municipality.
