The Carleton Place Public Library is calling on residents to help preserve the community’s wartime history through a new collaborative storytelling project, officially launching this Remembrance Day.

The initiative, called ‘Carleton Place Remembers’, invites community members to share personal or familial stories, photographs, and memories that reflect the town’s connections to war efforts that occurred across different generations and eras. According to a release from the Town, the collected material will be used to create a commemorative brochure that will honour local history and resilience.

Residents can contribute in several ways, including sharing personal or family stories about veterans, wartime experiences, or activities they remember from the home front. Any historical photographs and images or descriptions of wartime memorabilia are also welcome.

All submissions must be received by November 11, 2025 and can be emailed to jhawkins@carletonplace.ca, dropped off in person at the library, or arranged by phone at 613-257-2702, ext. 6505.

Physical submissions can be made during regular library hours: Monday to Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
