Mill Street in Carleton Place closing for three days for McArthur Island roadwork

Drivers in Carleton Place should expect temporary detours this week as Mill Street closes from Tuesday, Oct. 21, to Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, to allow crews to build a new roadway connected to the McArthur Island development.

According to town officials, the closure will affect the section of Mill Street between Princess Street and Rosamond Street, including both back bridges. Traffic will be redirected to Bridge Street, with detour signage in place to help motorists navigate safely around the work zone.

Town officials explained that the three-day closure is necessary to complete roadway construction safely and efficiently as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements connected to the McArthur Island project.
