The Town of Carleton Place has released their weekly construction update, outlining work scheduled to take place over the coming week. The Town reminds residents that weather, staffing and material availability may affect timelines.

At the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, construction continues on the wet well for the new headworks building, along with rock excavation and blasting for new structures and pipe trenches. Crews are also installing new forcemains and watermains at the Water Treatment Plant.

On Captain A. Roy Brown Boulevard and McEachen Drive, crews will be installing utilities for streetlights. Paving of the top lift of asphalt is scheduled to take place on both Charles Street and St. Paul Street.

Work is set to resume at the Findlay Avenue Pumping Station this week, including installation of the forcemain and new building components. At the Industrial Avenue Pumping Station, construction continues on the new building and the internal components of the wet well.

At the Princess Street Pumping Station, work is ongoing on control panels within the existing building. The pads for the generator and gas meter will be poured once the electrical conduits have been installed.

The Town is asking residents to avoid active construction zones whenever possible. Those who must travel through these areas should slow down and follow instructions from flaggers and posted signs.

For more information or questions about current projects, residents can contact the Public Works Office at 613-257-2253.
