Residents and businesses in downtown Almonte are being advised of a planned power outage on Monday, Nov. 17, as the Ottawa River Power Corporation (ORPC) carries out system upgrades in the Mill Street area.

The outage is scheduled to take place from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., affecting customers connected to a customer-owned transformer. According to ORPC, the planned work is part of ongoing system improvements and infrastructure upgrades.

The Municipality of Mississippi Mills confirmed in a release on Monday Nov. 3 that it is not involved in the project, but is assisting in sharing the information to help residents prepare. ORPC will directly notify affected customers through its automated messaging system, using the primary phone number listed on each utility account.

Customers with questions or concerns about the outage are encouraged to contact Ottawa River Power Corporation at 613-256-3722 or by email at inquiries@orpowercorp.com.
