Overnight winter parking restrictions begin Nov. 15 in Carleton Place

As winter approaches, the Town of Carleton Place is reminding residents that overnight on-street parking restrictions will take effect beginning Nov. 15, 2025, and remain in place until April 1, 2026.
During this period, on-street parking is prohibited between midnight and 7 a.m., regardless of weather conditions. According to the town, the restriction ensures that snow plows and maintenance crews can safely and efficiently clear streets and sidewalks throughout the winter months.
“The Town has a legal responsibility to provide safe roadways for our community,” officials said in a statement. “Adhering to the winter parking restrictions helps our public works crews keep roads and sidewalks clear in accordance with provincial maintenance standards.”
Vehicles found parked on the street during restricted hours may be ticketed or towed to the Carleton Place Public Library parking lot at 101 Beckwith Street.
To help accommodate residents who need overnight parking, the Town has designated seven municipal lots that can be used between 7 p.m. and 11 a.m. These include:
- Riverside Park (east end of the parking lot at the end of John Street) – 10 spaces
- Carleton Junction, Coleman Street – approximately 8 spaces
- Cavanagh Road (gravel area near the tower and stormwater pond) – 10 to 12 spaces
- McNeely Avenue (temporary gravel area at the south end by the trail) – approximately 6 spaces
- Centennial Park, Joseph Street – 10 to 12 spaces
- Carleton Place Public Library (9 signed spaces adjacent to Judson Street)
- Power Street municipal gravel lot – entire lot available
