Carleton Place prepares for a festive evening as Winterfest returns this weekend

Downtown Carleton Place is almost ready to transform into a festive outdoor celebration this Saturday as Winterfest returns, offering residents and tourists an evening of entertainment, shopping, and community spirit to the town’s historic core.
The free, family-friendly event runs on Nov. 22, 2025 from 4 to 8 p.m. throughout the downtown district and at the Market Square Pavilion, offering a mix of seasonal activities and vendors designed to welcome the holiday season and support local businesses.
Winterfest is presented by the Town of Carleton Place, Downtown Carleton Place BIA, and CP Tourism, and organizers say this year’s event has been specifically curated to offer something for residents of all ages. The popular Night Market will return, featuring local vendors, sidewalk sales, and unique holiday gift opportunities from downtown shops and restaurants.
“Winterfest is a cornerstone event that highlights the charm and vitality of our downtown community,” said Paisley Woods, BIA Coordinator. “We look forward to partnering with the Town of Carleton Place once again to deliver a high-quality, memorable experience that celebrates the beginning of the holiday season for our residents and visitors.”
Families visiting Market Square can enjoy a lineup of live performers, with musical entertainment scheduled throughout the evening from 4:15 to 8 p.m.
To add more magic to the holiday atmosphere, free horse-drawn wagon rides will offer scenic tours of the decorated downtown core. Visitors are also encouraged to keep an eye out for a mischievous green guest — the Grinch — who will be roaming the streets with treats in tow.
