Submitted by Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum

The Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum is marking the season with a full lineup of Victorian-themed holiday activities at 11 Old Slys Road.

The Holiday Heritage House event runs on Dec. 7 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., offering horse-drawn wagon rides, visits with Santa, costumed actors, treats, warm drinks and children’s crafts. Admission is by donation and wagon rides are free.

The museum’s annual art show, featuring work from local artists in a range of mediums, is on display until Dec. 20.

A candlelit Christmas tour is set for Dec. 11 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., giving visitors a look at Victorian holiday traditions inside the decorated historic home. Tickets cost $10 for adults, $5 for youth aged 5 to 12 and are free for children under four.

A special Santa mailbox is available on the museum’s front deck. Letters dropped off between Nov. 21 and Dec. 8 will receive a personalized reply.

The museum is open Wednesday to Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is by donation for the remainder of the year. For more information, contact 613-283-6311 or heritagehouse@smithsfalls.ca.
