A Stittsville man is facing several charges after Lanark County OPP stopped a vehicle travelling at high speed on County Road 43 early Wednesday.

Police say officers spotted the vehicle just before 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 19 in Drummond-North Elmsley Township. The driver was arrested and taken to the detachment in Perth for testing.

Investigators later learned the same vehicle had been involved in a fail-to-remain collision in the Ottawa area before the traffic stop.

Brady Newbold, 29, is charged with impaired driving, having a blood-alcohol level over 80, failing to report an accident, failing to remain, driving without a proper rear light and driving with liquor readily available. Charges have not been proven in court.

He was released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Dec. 15, 2025. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
