Festival of Lights and drone show set to brighten Perth on Dec. 5

Perth Tourism is inviting residents and visitors to celebrate the holiday season at the annual Festival of Lights and drone show on Friday, Dec. 5 at the Tay Basin. The free event will feature live music, refreshments and a coordinated drone display over the water.
The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a performance by Rubies in the Rough. The Table Community Food Centre will serve refreshments, with donations welcome to support its programs. At about 6:15 p.m., dozens of illuminated drones will lift into the air for the Festival of Lights Drone Show, best viewed from the Tay Basin parking lot.
After the show, guests can warm up inside the Crystal Palace and take in the Community Christmas Trees. The displays, decorated by local businesses, organizations and community groups, will remain lit throughout the season.
Traffic closures will be in place on Basin Lane, Tay Street and Market Square during the event. Visitors are encouraged to park at the Herriott Street or Museum lots, the Wilson Street lot, or nearby on-street locations, then walk to the Tay Basin. The town recommends dressing warmly and arriving early to secure a good viewing spot.
