Lanark OPP is asking for the public’s help identifying a man they want to speak with about a series of recent incidents involving fraudulent home-renovation offers.

Police say the man has been approaching homeowners and offering to take on renovation or repair work. According to investigators, he collects a cash deposit, workers arrive and begin the job, then leave and never return.

Police are reminding residents to be cautious when hiring contractors. They recommend checking references, reviewing contracts carefully and being wary of deals that appear too good to be true.
