Longtime volunteer honoured as Carleton Place Citizen of the Year for 2025

Julie Sadler was named Carleton Place’s 2025 Citizen of the Year on Saturday, Dec. 13 during the town’s Volunteer Appreciation event.
Sadler has spent decades giving back to the community through a wide range of volunteer roles, a media release from the Town explains. She is known as a dependable and thoughtful volunteer, driven by a genuine desire to help others and strengthen the community.
For 12 years, Sadler volunteered with the local chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society and also delivered meals through Meals on Wheels. Since 2007, she has supported the Salvation Army Kettle program during the holiday season.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she volunteered as a shopper and driver for Independent Grocer, helping residents access essential groceries. More recently, she served on the Campaign Cabinet for the fundraising campaign for the new Emergency Department, assisting with efforts to raise funds.
Sadler is a 35-year member of the IODE Captain Hooper chapter and currently serves as both president and treasurer. She also sits on the Board of Directors for the Carleton Place and Beckwith Historical Society, where she is the current treasurer.
Town officials say Sadler’s long-standing commitment and selfless service have made a lasting impact on Carleton Place and its residents.
