The East Region Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have seized illegal drugs and several realistic-looking replica firearms following a search warrant execution in Carleton Place as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, according to a release issued on Friday, January 30, 2026.

The OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit began investigating suspected cocaine trafficking in Carleton Place and the surrounding area in late 2025. That investigation led officers to a residence on Townline Road East where on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, members of the Community Street Crime Unit, with assistance from the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, executed a search warrant at the property.

Police say officers seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, along with several replica firearms and items typically associated with drug trafficking.

As a result, an arrest warrant has been issued for a 40-year-old resident of Beckwith Township in connection with the investigation. Police said the individual is expected to face charges related to drug possession. The name of the suspect has not been released at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not released further details at this time.
