Carleton Place residents are invited to celebrate the upcoming Family Day holiday on Monday, February 16, 2026 with a series of fun community events running throughout the day. From superheroes and ice time to hometown hockey rivalries, Carleton Place is offering something for all ages — and most of it free or low-cost.

According to town officials, one of the most notable attraction is the annual Carleton Place Comic Con, which will return to the Carleton Place Arena from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Whether they’re lifelong fans of the niche or just curious visitors, Comic Con invites families to step into the unique world of comics, pop culture and costumed heroes. Admission is either $2 per person or a donation to the Lanark County Food Bank.

For those looking to get some exercise and enjoy classic Canadian winter fun, free public skating will be offered from noon to 12:50 p.m, giving families a chance to lace up and hit the ice together. The skate will take place at the Carleton Place Arena and is being sponsored by Barker’s Funeral Home.

The fun will continue indoors at the Carleton Place Pool, where free public swimming will be offered from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sponsored by Tarstone Canada, town officials say the public swim is “the perfect way to burn off some energy and make a splash this holiday.”

Hockey fans can cap off the day with a Family Day rivalry game as the Carleton Place Canadians take on the Smiths Falls Bears, a game that’s been billed the “Battle of Highway 15.” The puck drop is set for 2 p.m., with adult tickets priced at $14 and one free child ticket included with each paid adult admission.

Fans are also encouraged to bring their skates and stick around after the final buzzer, when the Canadians will host a post-game skate with the team.
