The Town of Perth says it is not yet in a position to release details or schedule a public meeting regarding a proposed subdivision currently before the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT).

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026 the town provided an update on the OLT’s proceedings related to a proposed subdivision by CAIVAN (Perth GC) Limited, identified as Case Number OLT-23000534.

Following tribunal-led mediation, the details of a potential settlement were reviewed by council in principle in the fall of 2025. At that time, council shared its intention to host a public meeting to share more information with local residents once the formal Minutes of Settlement were finalized and the matter advanced to the next stage of the tribunal process.

However, the town has now clarified the settlement remains subject to approval by all parties involved in the proceeding. Until those approvals are acquired and the Minutes of Settlement are complete, the municipality cannot release settlement details or confirm a date for a public meeting.

The town said it remains prepared to host the public meeting as soon as the necessary approvals are finalized. Once confirmed, the Minutes of Settlement will be posted publicly and a meeting date will be announced, according to the release.

The town acknowledged they are aware residents are seeking clarity on next steps, reiterating they remain committed to transparency moving forward. Updates will be shared through the town’s engagement website as additional information becomes available.

Questions about the process may be directed to Chief Administrative Officer Michael Touw at cao@perth.ca..
