Lanark County seeking public input for updated 10-Year Housing and Homelessness Plan

Lanark County Social Services is inviting residents to help shape the future of housing and homelessness services in the region.
As part of an update to its 10-Year Housing and Homelessness Plan, the county is working alongside community partners to develop a renewed comprehensive strategy aimed at improving housing options and strengthening responses to homelessness across Lanark, according to a release from the Town of Carleton Place.
To guide that work, officials are asking community members to share their perspectives and experiences through an online survey.
The survey is designed to gather feedback from a broad cross-section of residents — including those with lived experience, service providers, families, and individuals concerned about housing availability and affordability. The input collected is intended to identify priorities, gaps in services, and opportunities for improvement over the next decade, according to town officials.
Given the ever-present crisis of housing affordability and homelessness in many communities across Eastern Ontario, county officials say community feedback is essential to ensuring the updated plan reflects local realities and supports effective, long-term solutions.
