A temporary road closure on Industrial Avenue is set to impact traffic flow and business access in Carleton Place next month, as municipal crews undertake essential infrastructure upgrades to the town’s sanitary sewer system.

In a public notice issued on Monday, March 30, 2026, the Town of Carleton Place shared that a section of Industrial Avenue, near the local pumping station, will be closed to all traffic from April 8 through April 10. The closure is required to facilitate the installation of a new sanitary sewer line and manhole.

Town officials stressed that during the three-day closure, detours will be in place to maintain access to nearby businesses. Motorists and delivery vehicles heading to businesses located north of the construction zone will be directed via Concession 8, while those travelling to businesses south of the site can access the area from Townline Road East.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time when driving, and follow posted signage throughout the construction period.
