Two youths are facing charges following a Leeds County OPP investigation involving the distribution of intimate images.

The investigation began on March 31, 2026, after a local school administration reported that intimate images of a young person had been shared, according to an April 13 media release from OPP.

As a result of the investigation, two female youths have been charged with:

  • Importing, distributing or possessing for the purpose of distribution child sexual abuse and exploitation material
  • Distributing an intimate image without consent

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville at a later date.

“Five youths have been charged with similar offences in the recent weeks in Leeds County,” said media relations constable Joey Mason.

The OPP is urging parents and guardians to speak with youth about the risks and legal consequences of taking, sending and receiving intimate images.

Officers will also be attending local schools to provide education and presentations on the issue.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
