Carleton Place launches first-ever Clean & Green Community Cleanup event

Residents in Carleton Place are being invited to roll up their sleeves this spring and give back to their community as the town prepares to host its first-ever Clean & Green Community Cleanup later this month.
The event, presented by the Town of Carleton Place with support from Home Depot in Carleton Place, will be taking place on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. This initiative is meant to encourage individuals, families, and groups of friends to take part in a community-wide effort to tidy up neighbourhoods, parks, and public spaces.
In an April 28 media release, organizers say the event is designed to be flexible and inclusive, allowing participants to choose how they want to contribute. Residents can simply clean up litter on their own street or can work in groups to target local green spaces that are in need of attention after a long winter.
“Every bit of effort makes a significant difference,” the town emphasized.
Cleanup supplies will be provided to volunteers, making it easy for residents to get involved without needing to bring their own materials.
Those interested in participating are encouraged to register in advance by contacting the town via email at jhansen@carletonplace.ca. Participants who are unsure where help is most needed can reach out to organizers for suggestions on which parks and trails that could benefit from a little extra care.
