Smiths Falls residents and visitors are invited to celebrate spring with Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum at their third annual Spring Carnival.
What began in 2024 as an Earth Day Celebration, the Spring Carnival offers family-friendly activities, games, entertainment, and a vendor market.
“This year for the first time we have a performance by the Smiths Falls Community Band from 11:30 – 12:30, with the Rideau Cloggers performing afterwards,” wrote Sienna Cauley, Heritage House Museum Program Coordinator, in an email to Lanarkist.
“The Petting Zoo by Fur, Feathers and Fins is always great. We also have a Vendor Market that includes treats, arts and crafts and community groups, there are always new vendors every year.”
The petting zoo will be available for visitors to enjoy from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Available for the duration of the carnival, there will also be face painting, indoor and outdoor scavenger hunts, a bouncy castle, and a meet and greet with Tinkerbell.

The vendor market will offer confections and the carnival will be offering food from their BBQ and canteen at a cost.
In addition, there’ll be a bake oven demonstration.
“The museum has a built-in bake oven in the Summer Kitchen. It is a ‘beehive’ oven due to its domed shaped on the inside. It is a precursor to the more modern brick oven,” Cauley explained.
“We still use it for special events and occasions and have made many things like biscuits and pizza. We’ll have a volunteer working the bake oven during the event and baking bread.”
A current vendor list includes Bubblegum Confections, Nancy’s Beach Treasures and More, Cherie’s Cozy Creations, Sugar Rush Carnival Delights, a vendor selling 3D cutting blocks, and arts and craft vendors.
On Sunday, May 24, 2026, the Spring Carnival will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, with admission by donation.
“We try to keep our large community events admission by donation to make sure anyone in the community can participate and enjoy,” Cauley wrote.
Vendor applications are still open. Anyone wishing to be a participating vendor can contact the museum at heritagehouse@smithsfalls.ca
