Families in Carleton Place are invited to enjoy an evening of food and film later this month as the Carleton Place Youth Centre hosts a community movie night and barbecue fundraiser in support of local youth programming.

Organizers say the fundraiser will begin with a BBQ dinner from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., including hot dogs, hamburgers and other canteen items available for purchase. The fun will continue into the evening with a screening of Zootopia 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Tickets are priced at $5 and include admission to the movie along with a serving of popcorn. According to a release from the Town of Carleton Place, proceeds from the event will go directly towards supporting programs and services offered through the Carleton Place Youth Centre. The fundraiser is sponsored in part by M&M Food Market and Independent Grocer.

Town officials say the event is designed as a family-friendly community gathering open to all ages, although children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

The event is scheduled for May 29, 2026 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the youth centre, located at 360 Edmund St.

Residents interested in attending can purchase tickets online through the event registration page.
