OPP investigating fatal single-vehicle crash in Mississippi Mills

A 27-year-old man from Mississippi Mills has died following a single-vehicle collision last week.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police, along with the McNab/Braeside Fire Department and Renfrew County Paramedic Services, responded to Bayview Lodge Road at about 9:45 p.m. on May 13, according to a media release from police.

The initial investigation indicates the vehicle struck a tree before becoming engulfed in flames prior to emergency crews arriving on scene, police say.

The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team attended and is assisting with the investigation.

Bayview Lodge Road remained closed for several hours following the collision.
