Mississippi River Health Alliance honours healthcare workers and retirees for decades of service

Earlier this week, the Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) recognized dozens of healthcare professionals, support staff and retirees whose combined years of service have helped shape healthcare delivery across Lanark County.
Formed in 2016, the MRHA brings together Almonte General Hospital (AGH), Fairview Manor, Lanark County Paramedic Service (LCPS) and Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (CPDMH) in a partnership designed to deliver integrated healthcare services closer to home.
During its 2026 Long Service Awards celebration, held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at AGH, the organization honoured staff and medical staff across all of its entities for their milestone service anniversaries ranging from 5 to 40 years, according to a release from MRHA.
Organizers said the milestone achievements reflected “the remarkable commitment, compassion, and professionalism that continue to strengthen healthcare across the region.”
The MRHA also recognized recent retirees, who according to the organization, have contributed to help “shape the organization and the communities it serves.”
For event organizers, the annual awards ceremony is meant to celebrate the dedication and professionalism of the individuals who form the backbone of the local healthcare system, many of whom have spent decades caring for residents through changing healthcare landscapes, growing community needs and evolving practices.

“Behind every year of service is a person who has made a difference in the lives of patients, residents, families, and colleagues,” said Brad Harrington, President and CEO of the MRHA. “Today is an opportunity to recognize not only years of service, but the lasting impact these individuals have had on our organization and our communities.”
Among those recognized was Heather White, who received special acknowledgement for reaching an extraordinary milestone of 40 years of service in the healthcare field.
In their release, the MRHA extended its congratulations and gratitude to all the 2026 Long Service Award recipients, thanking them for their years of dedication to patient care and community well-being.
