Carleton Place beaches set to open for summer season on June 15

Summer is kicking off in Carleton Place next week as the town prepares to officially open its two municipal beaches for the 2026 season.
In a release issued on Friday, June 12, 2026, the Town of Carleton Place said both Centennial Beach and Riverside Beach will welcome swimmers to the sandy shores on Monday, June 15, providing residents and visitors with a chance to cool off and enjoy the summer weather.
The Town of Carleton Place operates two public beaches: Riverside Park Beach, located at 175 John St., and Centennial Park Beach, located at 169 Joseph St. According to the town, both beaches will remain open until Aug. 22.
Lifeguards will be on duty at both beaches daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the summer season, offering supervised swimming for families and beachgoers.
In addition to supervised swimming, public washrooms at Riverside Park Beach will be available daily from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will remain open until the season wraps up on Sept. 30.
“River current may be stronger than it appears. Please keep non-swimmers within arm’s reach at all times,” the town urged in its announcement.
Town officials are also reminding residents that water safety remains a top priority and are encouraging visitors to follow all posted rules and guidelines while at the beaches or check in with Beach Water Listings in advance.
Water quality at both beaches will continue to be monitored throughout the season by Southeast Public Health, helping ensure swimming conditions remain safe for the public.
